It's looking good - just an idea I had, but perhaps the windows could reflect the owner - the general having short, square windows, and the scientist taller, thin ones?
The windows are the only thing I'm re-thinking in this scene, so I think you are right Dan. Perhaps because this is a terrace house maybe theres two sets of windows on either side of a wall in the middle. Something along the lines of the scientist's room in "When the Earth Stood Still"
